Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center: Volunteer opportunities include: Fundraising, area beautification, materials preparation and reading opportunities.

Campus Kitchen: Shifts- recovery, delivery and cooking. All are listed on our website.

CASA for Children: CASA for Children is looking for community members to be trained and supported while they advocate for the best interests of child victims of abuse or neglect within the Juvenile Court System of Rockbridge, Lexington, and Buena Vista. Volunteer advocates must be 21 years of age or older, pass an extensive background check, complete a 36-hour training program, and commit to a minimum of a year in service. The Community Table: Our volunteer needs can be met through our coordinator Jill Lund, at rockbridgecommunitytable@gmail.com. Volunteers needed for set-up, servers, busers, drink prep, refills, kitchen, and/or clean up.

Meals for Shut-Ins: We rely on volunteer drivers, who commit one hour (11:15 to 12:15) one day a week to pick up meals at Stonewall Jackson Hospital where they are prepared, and deliver them to one of our five delivery routes. One can volunteer as a substitute driver, who may be called upon when one of the regular drivers is unable to serve on a particular day.

The Talking Book Center: Returned book quality control check, shelving, new book processing (labeling, cataloging), book repair, machine room oversight (quality control checks, inventory, shipment), outreach volunteers (to visit nursing homes, assisted living center on behalf of the TBC).

Valley Program for Aging Services: Packaging and delivery of Meals on Wheels, Transportation volunteers, Activities ie: weekly crafts with members, weekly exercise, yoga, current events with members, gardening, “brick and mortar” maintenance of building ie: painting interior/exterior, reconfiguring/remodel of space for greater efficiency, basement and shed clean out.

Yellow Brick Road Early Learning Center: We welcome volunteers are our facility! We would love to have people come in to read to the children. We also have a few children that need one on one assistance. So volunteering to become that child’s mentor would be great! We also need help with yard work.

YMCA: Happy Hearts program presented in the local schools – focus on healthy habits for children, especially good nutrition – volunteers are needed.
