Hot meals are provided, five days a week year-round, to shut-ins. We get referrals from medical and social service organizations.

We partner with Virginia Program for Aging Services, who provides similar services for residents of Buena Vista and Glasgow.

What volunteer opportunities are available at your agency?

We rely on volunteer drivers, who commit one hour (11:15 to 12:15) one day a week to pick up meals at Stonewall Jackson Hospital where they are prepared, and deliver them to one of our five delivery routes.

Why is working for this organization important to you?

For the benefit it provides to the meals’ recipients, providing nutrition as well as a chance to remain in the home rather than enter institutional living.

What is your favorite memory of working with this organization?

The most rewarding moments moments come in interacting with meal recipients as I deliver their lunch.
